Hospice Grief ConferenceWhatcom Hospice will locally host the 14th annual Hospice Foundation of America live teleconference ‘Living with Grief: Before and After the Death.’ Thursday, March 22, 2007, 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Whatcom Community College. The teleconference is free; continuing education contact hours available for $25.00 as well as companion teleconference books for $16.00. For more information see the conference Web site. Gatekeeper ProgramSenior Information & Assistance is partnering with Whatcom Counseling & Psychiatric Clinic to put renewed energy into the Gatekeeper Program. This program offers public education on how to identify and refer isolated at-risk seniors, outreach to seniors, and connection to services either publicly or privately funded, in order to meet their needs. We can come and speak to your business or group about the Gatekeeper Program, and a variety of other topics related to community resources for seniors and caregivers. Please call us! Long Term Care Insurance SeminarAre you confused by all the choices to be made when it comes to Long Term Care Insurance? Get your questions answered in an informational seminar “Making Sense of Long Term Care Insurance”, presented by Cindy Sherwin, MBA, CLTC. You will learn what long term care insurance is all about: what it costs, what your benefit choices are, why people get declined, what triggers the benefits, and more. Tuesday, April 10th from 6:00-8:00pm. Reservations required. Call 647-2280 or email Cindy for more information or to make a reservation. Make your reservation by April 3rd to be entered into a special drawing. Do you work in a long term care facility? Do you work with the families of your residents? March 16th in Bellingham. Hundreds of hours were volunteered to put on this event for our community, and the conference was well attended and appreciated.
