Elder Service Providers/WCTA May Lunch Meeting

When: Wed. May 23rd from 11:30-1. 
Where: The Willows, 3rd Floor, 3115 Squalicum Pkwy. 
Food: Lunch will be provided by the Willows, however donations up to $3.00 will be accepted at the door for the American Cancer Society - great idea!  

Our guest speaker will be from Adult Protective Services and will have an informative presentation and answer all of your questions. Parking is limited so please carpool if possible- overflow parking is available at St. Luke’s Community Adult Education Center, 3333 Squalicum. We meet the 4th Wed. of every month for lunch and a program/guest speaker. All are welcome! 

Elder Service Providers 2007 Summer Barbeque

Our annual barbeque will be held Monday July 9th 2007 at the Squalicum Boathouse. There will be a Programs/PR Committee meeting to discuss the details on Tues. June 5th at 4 PM at Home Attendant Care. For questions contact Rob Westford.

Elder Service Providers 2008 Caregivers Conference

The Next Meeting for the caregiver conference will be May 16, 2007, at 3:30 PM at Jeckyl and Hyde deli, 709 W. Orchard Dr. unit 1, and The Courtyard will provide a free latte to anyone who attends- the more the merrier! 

The 2008 Caregiver Conference will be held at the Christ the King meeting center, March 28, 2008.  The theme will be "Caregivers--the 8th Wonder of the World."  Please plan to attend, and consider being a sponsor, vendor, or speaker!  Contact Mary Gould at The Courtyard if you need info.

Alzheimer Lecture at Adult Day Health

A free lecture for family and professional caregivers. "Current Approaches to the Treatment of Alzheimer's" with guest speaker Henry Levine, MD. Dr. Levine will talk about medications used in each stage of memory loss. He will also discuss medications used for depression and challenging behaviors. Thursday, June 7, 2007 from 3:30 -5:00 pm at St Joseph Hospital Adult Day Health, 809 E. Chestnut St., Bellingham, WA. This lecture is sponsored by Adult Day Health and Pfizer. Alzheimer Society of Washington

Memory Awareness Screenings, 3rd Tuesday of each month in 2007.  To make an appointment, call 360-671-3316 or drop-in between 10:30 and 1:00 pm.  A free service held at St. Luke's Community Health Education Center, 3333 Squalicum Pkwy, Bellingham.  The screening is non-invasive, non-threatening and takes only a few minutes.  Take this opportunity to ask questions and discuss concerns and options.
Annual Spring Workshop, "Dementia Care: Developing the Picture - Focusing on the Person", Friday, May 18, 2007, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
