January 2008 NewsletterUpcoming EventsElder Service Providers January Lunch MeetingThe next ESP lunch will be January 23rd at St. Luke’s Health Ed Center, 3333 Squalicum Pkwy, from 11:30-1:00. Lunch will be hosted by Walgreen’s Option Care and catered by Our House Deli. The buffet style lunch will include selections of home made soups, salads and deli style sandwiches (including vegetarian selections) as well as beverages and desserts. The cost for lunch is $6.00 per person. The guest speaker will be Dr. Timothy Ungs with Whatcom House Calls who will be sharing information with us regarding the availability of these services. RSVP by January 15th to Becca Swaen or Ken Parker at Walgreen’s Option Care (733-7799) or e-mail RSVP to kparker@optioncare.net. Our February lunch meeting will be held on February 27th. We meet the 4th Wed. of every month for lunch and a program/guest speaker. All are welcome. Elder Service Providers 2008 Professional Dinner – “A Magical Evening”
We will start off our magical evening with appetizers and a no-host bar from 5:30p – 6:00p. At 6:00 we will have brief announcements and introductions of our guests and share information on the services provided in our community. Following these introductions we will all enjoy a bountiful buffet including Roast Baron of Beef and Chicken Dijonaise as well as several vegetarian options, all of which are tastefully prepared by the chefs of the Northwood Hall. We will top off the evening with a dazzling show of Magic and comedy performed by Crystal the Jewel of Magic. Crystal has toured the U.S. and Europe and is guaranteed to conjure up a smile on the face of all who watch her. We hope you will join us for this magical evening designed to express appreciation for all the dedication and compassion shown to the seniors in our communities. Cost for the event is $25 for members and $30 for non-members. Elder Service Providers 2008 Caregivers ConferenceThe 2008 Caregiver Conference will be held at the Christ the King meeting center, March 28, 2008. The theme will be "Caregivers--the 8th Wonder of the World." Please plan to attend, and consider being a sponsor, vendor, or speaker! Contact Mary.gould@comcast.net.
