July Lunch/Picnic: Save the Date
Our July lunch will be held Wed. July 23rd from 11:30-1 at the Squalicum Boathouse at Zuanich Point Park. Our guest speaker will be Julie Clarke, expert organizer, who packed out her sessions at this year’s Caregiver Conference. Come learn how to organize your professional and personal life. We will have our very brief annual meeting, and introduce the new officers and board members. Attendees will have an opportunity to introduce their staff members and describe your facilities. Feel free to bring marketing materials for others. Catering by Taste of Elegance, cost is approx $12 for lunch, drinks and dessert. Sure beats a potluck! Bring your co-workers, spouses and friends. Alzheimer Society of Washington
Memory Awareness Screenings - a free service but donations are gratefully accepted. Third Tuesday of the month in 2008. Make an appointment by calling 360-671-3316, or drop in between 10:30 am - 12:30 pm at St. Luke's Community Health Education Center, 3333 Squalicum Pkwy, Bellingham. The screening is non-invasive, non-threatening and takes only a few minutes. Only you receive the results.
Project Lifesaver Volunteer Training - Project Lifesaver utilizes a radio transmitter in the form of a bracelet worn by people who, because of a medical condition, are at risk of becoming lost. The training is for staff members at care facilities or individuals who wnt to be part of the team tht will visit people living in the community who are using the bracelet. The training is scheduled for June 30, 2008, 1:00-4:00 PM, at 1212 Indian Street in Bellingham. Please call the Alzheimer Society to reserve a spot for the training: 360-671-3316.
