Elder Service Providers October Lunch Meeting
October’s lunch meeting will be held Wed, October 22nd from 11:30-1:00 at The Olive Garden on Meridian Street in Bellingham. The meeting is sponsored by Visiting Nurse Home Care. Speakers will be Terri Briant Booth of Visiting Nurse Home Care, and Lisa Schork, VNHC Board Member and owner of LTC Capstone.

Elder Service Providers normally meet the 4th Wednesday of the month. However, November’s meeting has been moved up to November 19th because of the Thanksgiving holiday, and will be at the Leopold.
Alzheimer Society of Washington
Memory Awareness Screenings - a free service but donations are gratefully accepted. Third Tuesday of the month in 2008. Make an appointment by calling 360-671-3316, or drop in between 10:30 am - 12:30 pm at St. Luke's Community Health Education Center, 3333 Squalicum Pkwy, Bellingham. The screening is non-invasive, non-threatening and takes only a few minutes.

Please call for a SOMEONE WHO CARES AWARD form, or download from the Website, and nominate any person who has taken special care of a loved one with Alzheimer's disease or someone you have seen using innovative techniques in dementia care. We must receive your nomination no later than October 10, 2008. Winners will be recognized at this conference.
Opening at the Willows
The Willows Retirement Community is looking for a married couple for a live-in caretaker position. Included is a one bedroom apartment, meals, utilities, medical and dental insurance in exchange for being on premises from 6pm to 8am six nights per week. The position includes performing security duties, answering the doorbell, and taking phone and emergency calls as needed.
Become a part of our long term staff team. If you love seniors and have a desire to serve others, this could be the position for you.
