Who will teach you

Janet Ott, 2008 Keynote Speaker, is an executive coach, facilitator and workshop leader with her own business in Whatcom County. Her rich and varied professional background includes corporate consultation, a nursing career, college faculty positions and a psychotherapy practice for more than 20 years. She currently leads two five-day courses for Excellence Northwest. Her passion is to be a catalyst for individuals and organizations to create extraordinary results, connect their souls to their careers, and to create thriving, authentic, collaborative relationships and fulfilling lives.

Julie Schatzer has her Masters in Social Work and has been working in health care for over 10 years. She is currently the Director of Education at the Alzheimer’s Association Western and Central Washington State Chapter.

Adriaan de Vries, MSW, MBA, PID, was the Provincial Education Coordinator for the Alzheimer Society of British Columbia in 2005/6. Currently, he is the Director of Treatment Information & Advocacy for the British Columbia Persons with AIDS Society. He has a diverse background with training and years of experience in counseling, finance and adult education. His mother, at age 95, is showing many signs of advanced dementia.

Julie Clarke, owner of Organized at Last, is a professional organizer, teacher and speaker. She has a BA degree in Home Economics from Western Washington University and is a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers. She has been changing lives through her simple organizing techniques for over 20 years. Julie is a wife and mother of 3 teenage sons. Her stories will warm your heart and inspire you to get organized at work and at home.

Eythl Warbus, Tribal Outreach Coordinator, Northwest Regional Council, Area Agency on Aging. Eythl assists in identifying and coordinating services for Native American elders and people with disabilities. She provides diversity training to the Northwest Senior Advisory Board and to the Northwest Regional Council staff. She helps clients access services they need to help keep them in their own homes, and acts as a liaison for off-reservation community groups.

Barry M. Meyers is certified as an Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation, practicing law for 25 years. He received his Master’s degree from the University of California and his law degree from Whittier College School of Law. He is the Past-President of the Washington Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) and received the NAELA Outstanding Member Award in 2002.

Julianne Ash, RN, RC, CHTP, CCAP, is a registered nurse certified in Integration Therapy and Healing Touch with 20 years of clinical experience. She has spent years aiding individuals to find and heal their traumatic wounds and restore health in body, mind, and spirit. Her passion for herbs for both food and medicine, led to certification in clinical aromatherapy and teaching that modality to health professionals. She is presently in private practice in Anacortes, WA.

Diane Woodworth, RN, LMP, has worked in health care for the past 20 years. She has been a registered nurse for the past 12 years, a Reiki Master for 6 years, a Licensed Massage Practitioner for the past 2 years, and now has added Touch Therapy to her many other healing skills. Diane has an excellent knowledge of the human body and its functions and is able to assess and treat many complex conditions. Using her background in nursing, Reiki Massage, and Touch Therapy, she exhibits excellent abilities for both relaxation and healing therapies.

Jan Rystrom, MEd, RD, CDE, developed the WellAware TM program for Haggen, Inc. A graduate of WWU in Nutrition, she did graduate work in nutrition and completed an internship in dietetics at UW. She has a Masters of Education, is a Certified Diabetes Educator, and trained with an endocrinologist/diabetologist. She has over 10 years experience with all aspects of diabetes management and education.

Kristoffer Rhoads ,PhD, is a clinical neuropsychologist with a specialty in geriatrics. He currently holds positions at the University of Washington School of Medicine/VA Puget Sound Health Care System and maintains a small private practice with offices in Seattle and Bellingham.
